Kendall Qualls Calls Democrats’ Public Safety Plans Election Year Ploys
MINNEAPOLIS – Today President Biden announced additional funding for police in his latest budget proposal. Calling these plans election year gimmicks, Republican gubernatorial candidate Kendall Qualls issued the following statement about the Democrats’ weak on crime reality:
Statement from Kendall Qualls:
“President Biden and Democrats like Governor Walz know voters are angry with their defund the police, weak on crime policies from the past few years and are desperately grasping at election year gimmicks because they are worried about what is to come at the polls. First, Walz with his “public safety tour” after standing behind Ilhan Omar, Keith Ellison and the Democrats’ Defund the Police policies and now Biden attempting to mask his party’s weak on crime policies.
Their desperate election year gimmicks are meant to make voters forget about their numerous shortcomings on public safety, but with soaring crime, Minnesotans won’t forget about Democrats’ weak on crime policies. As Governor, I will be on the side of police officers and the people who want to see a return to the safety we used to enjoy which is why I’ve proposed a plan to increase the headcount of state law enforcement, adding 300 to 400 officers to the Twin Cities regardless of city council resistance.”
