Kendall Qualls “We’re Seeing Firsthand the Detriments of Walz’s School Shutdowns”
MINNEAPOLIS – Two years after Governor Walz’s strict policies forced Minnesota schools to shutdown, a recent state education report indicates that Minnesota’s graduation rates dropped from 2020 to 2021. Calling out the Governor for the harm his overreaching COVID mandates caused students, Republican gubernatorial candidate Kendall Qualls issued the following statement promising to improve our state’s education system to ensure our kids remain competitive with those graduating from other states.
Statement from Kendall Qualls:
“Today’s report indicates what we’ve already known about our weak Governor. He has consistently failed parents and students with his tyrannical tendencies; however, impacting the future of our kids doesn’t deserve another four years in power. We’re seeing firsthand the detriments of Walz’s school shutdowns, and this doesn’t even begin to cover the learning loss that occurred from mask mandates and remote learning.
As your Governor, I will expand school choice in addition to incorporating apprentice style programs in schools. It’s time we stop impeding progress and give our kids real foundational skills, so they can earn a living wage and go on to become successful members of society. If we want to improve our test scores, that starts with firing our current Governor in November and working alongside parents to provide real results in the classroom.”
